Same-day dryer vent service

Dryer Vent Rerouting & Installation in Pinellas County

Some dryer vents can't be fixed by cleaning. The run is too long, it has too many bends, it ends in the attic or the garage, or the laundry moved and the vent never followed. A shorter, straighter route fixes the problem for good.

We plan the new route, show you a fixed price, install it in smooth rigid metal to the Florida Building Code, and prove it with an airflow reading. Local teams in Clearwater, Largo and Seminole.

What we see

When a dryer vent needs a new route

The run is too long. Under the Florida Building Code a standard 4-inch dryer exhaust is limited to 35 feet, minus 5 feet for each 90° elbow and 2.5 feet for each 45° (unless the dryer maker allows more). Long runs clog again within months no matter how often they're cleaned.

It doesn't end outside. We find vents that stop in the attic, blow into a soffit, end under a manufactured home or exhaust into the garage. All of them put hot, wet lint where it doesn't belong.

The laundry moved. Remodels and post-storm rebuilds often leave a dryer connected to a long, improvised run.

It's the wrong material. Foil or plastic duct inside walls and ceilings crushes, sags and can't be cleaned properly. It has to be replaced with rigid metal.

Warning signs

Signs your vent route is the problem

1

The vent clogs again within a few months of a cleaning.

2

Weak airflow even right after cleaning, measured at the outside cap.

3

You can't find where the vent exits the house.

4

Lint or moisture in the attic, garage or crawl space.

5

Foil duct visible in the attic or behind a wall opening.

6

The laundry was moved or rebuilt and nobody checked the vent.

Our process

How a reroute works

  1. We measure the current run and the airflow at the cap.
  2. We plan the shortest route to an outside wall or the roof, counting every bend.
  3. You see the plan and a fixed price before we cut anything.
  4. We install smooth rigid metal duct, joints in the direction of airflow, sealed with foil tape and supported along the run.
  5. We fit a proper exterior cap with a damper, sealed against rain.
  6. We connect the dryer with a listed transition hose, 8 feet or less.
  7. We test the airflow and send photos of the finished route.
Local know-how

Rerouting in Pinellas homes

Concrete block walls are standard in Pinellas homes. A new wall exit means a clean 4-inch opening through the block and a cap sealed so wind-driven rain stays out.

Condos and townhomes usually need association approval for any new opening in an outside wall. We can provide the details your board asks for. See condo and HOA programs.

Manufactured homes often vent through the floor and under the home. The run must end outside the skirting with a proper cap.

Roof to wall: when a laundry room sits on an outside wall, moving a roof vent to that wall usually cuts the run in half. See roof dryer vent cleaning.

FAQ

Dryer vent rerouting questions

How long can a dryer vent be in Florida?

For a standard 4-inch duct, 35 feet from the dryer connection to the outside cap, minus 5 feet for each 90° bend and 2.5 feet for each 45° bend, unless the dryer manufacturer allows a longer run. Smooth long-radius elbows count for less.

Can a dryer vent go into the attic or garage?

No. A dryer exhaust has to end outside the building, with a damper and no screen.

Can you move my vent from the roof to a wall?

Often, yes. If the laundry room is on an outside wall, a wall exit is usually much shorter. We measure both and quote the better one.

Do condo owners need approval?

Usually. Most associations must approve a new opening in an outside wall or roof. We give you the route and cap details to submit.

Can a booster fan fix a long run instead?

The 2023 Florida Building Code doesn't allow ordinary household booster fans in dryer exhaust. We shorten the run first; it's the fix that lasts.

What about ventless dryers?

Listed condensing and heat-pump dryers don't need an outside vent. If you're remodeling and can't get a good route, they're worth asking your appliance dealer about.
