From our jobs

Roof vents that clog at the top

In a lot of Clearwater homes the dryer vent goes up, not out. It climbs through the attic and exits on the roof, so lint has to travel uphill and settles near the roof cap, where nobody ever sees it. Add our year-round humidity and that lint turns damp and dense. The dryer still heats, but the air can't get out.

That is why so many people tell us their vent "was cleaned before, but it still doesn't work right." Someone brushed the first few feet behind the dryer and left the top of the line packed. We clean from inside and from the roof, then measure the airflow at the exit to prove it moves again.

They cleaned my dryer vent it was very professional with transparent prices over the phone and at my house! Local for Clearwater very quick response and they know what they doing very very well!Jacobo C., Google review of our Clearwater team, October 2026
Warning signs

Warning signs you shouldn't ignore

1

Clothes take two or three cycles, or towels come out hot and still damp.

2

A burning smell while the dryer runs. Stop using it and call (727) 454-0061.

3

The dryer or laundry room gets very hot, because the heat has nowhere to go.

4

The dryer shuts off early. Its high-limit safety switch is tripping.

5

Lint around the outside vent, or a flap that barely lifts when the dryer is on.

6

A musty smell or water stains near the laundry room or on a ceiling below a roof vent. Moisture is condensing inside the duct.

These are airflow problems, not appliance problems. Before you pay for a new dryer, have the vent checked. Most of the time the dryer is fine.

More warning signs and three quick tests in our guide: signs of a clogged dryer vent.

What we do

Dryer vent services in Clearwater

Dryer vent cleaning

The whole line, from the lint-trap housing and transition hose to the duct through the wall, attic or roof and the outside cap, cleaned with rotary brushes and a strong vacuum. Airflow tested before and after.

Dryer duct cleaning

Long dryer duct runs through garages, attics and between floors, common in Clearwater homes. We clean the full length, not just what you can reach from the laundry room.

Roof dryer vent cleaning

Roof exits cleaned from the top and from inside, the roof cap cleared or replaced, and the damper tested. Roof work is a big part of what we do, not an add-on. See roof dryer vent cleaning.

Dryer vent inspection

Airflow reading, a look at the full route and the exit, and photos. Good for new buyers or if you can't remember the last cleaning. See dryer vent inspection.

Dryer vent fire hazard inspection

Lint is highly flammable, and restricted airflow means higher temperatures. We check for lint leaks inside walls, foil or vinyl hoses and overheating signs.

Dryer vent repair and rerouting

Crushed ducts, disconnected lines, poor materials and runs with too many bends. Most fixes are done the same day. See dryer vent repair in Clearwater.

Transition hose replacement

The flimsy foil hose behind many dryers crushes and traps lint. We replace it with a listed semi-rigid metal hose. See transition hose replacement.

Condos, HOAs and commercial

Townhomes, condo buildings and businesses on a schedule. See commercial dryer vent cleaning.

Local know-how

Why dryer vents clog faster in Clearwater

Florida humidity. Moist air makes lint heavier and stickier, so it packs into the duct instead of blowing out. Frequent summer rain adds more moisture at the exit.

Roof exits and long runs. Many Clearwater homes, especially two-story homes and newer builds around Countryside, Coachman Ridge and Feather Sound, have vertical roof vents or long duct runs. Every extra foot and every bend slows the air. Florida's building code limits a standard 4-inch dryer duct to 35 feet, minus 5 feet for every 90° bend.

Block homes in central and south Clearwater. In Skycrest, Morningside and the neighborhoods off Belcher Road, Highland Avenue and Lakeview Road, many 1950s to 1970s homes had the laundry moved into the garage or a closet years later. That often means a long run with extra turns, or a foil hose squeezed behind the dryer.

The fire risk is real. The U.S. Fire Administration counts about 2,900 home dryer fires every year, and failure to clean is the leading cause, behind roughly a third of them. Routine cleaning removes most of that risk.

Recent jobs near you: a clogged roof vent near McMullen Booth Road, a townhome in Feather Sound with almost no airflow, a long packed run in Countryside, and a crushed garage line off Gulf to Bay Boulevard.

Our process

How a Clearwater visit works

  1. A text before we arrive with your technician's name.
  2. We look at the whole path first: the dryer connection, the route through the wall, attic or roof, and the exit.
  3. An airflow reading at the exit, so we both know where we started.
  4. Floors protected and the dryer moved carefully.
  5. Problems shown before fixing, with a fixed price you approve.
  6. The full line cleaned, roof cap included, from both ends when it's long or vertical.
  7. A second airflow reading and before-and-after photos. If it's still not moving right, we tell you why.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions: dryer vent cleaning Clearwater

How much does dryer vent cleaning cost in Clearwater FL?

Standard dryer vent cleaning starts at $99 for a single-story home with a wall vent. Roof vents, long runs and condos are quoted on the phone, and repairs get a fixed price before we start.

Who is the best dryer vent cleaning company near me in Clearwater?

Look for a company that measures airflow before and after, cleans the full line including roof exits, and gives you the price upfront. We're rated 5.0 from more than 100 Google reviews and based at Coachman Plaza in Clearwater.

How often should dryer vents be cleaned?

Once a year is standard. Homes with roof vents, long runs, big families or pets may need it every 6 to 9 months.

Why is my dryer taking multiple cycles to dry clothes?

Airflow is restricted, so hot, wet air can't leave the dryer. The cause is usually lint buildup, a crushed hose or a clogged roof cap, not the dryer itself.

Are roof dryer vents harder to clean?

Yes. Lint has to travel upward and collects near the roof cap. It takes roof access and the right tools, which we bring.

Can clogged dryer vents cause fires?

Yes. Lint is flammable, and restricted airflow makes the dryer run hotter and longer. Failure to clean is the leading cause of home dryer fires.

Why is my laundry room getting hot?

Hot air isn't exiting properly and is leaking back into the room, usually from a clog or a disconnected or crushed duct.

Can dryer vents leak water in Florida?

Yes. When airflow is weak, moisture condenses inside the duct, especially in attic and roof runs. That can show up as stains on a ceiling.

What causes a burning smell?

Lint overheating near the heating element or inside the duct. Turn the dryer off and have the vent checked.

Do you serve central and south Clearwater?

Yes. Downtown, Harbor Oaks, Skycrest, Morningside, Gulf to Bay, Belcher Road and Feather Sound are all regular stops for our Clearwater team, usually the same day.

What should I do if I suspect a clogged dryer vent?

Stop running long cycles and call (727) 454-0061 or request a quote. We'll find the restriction, show it to you and fix it.
