Same-day dryer vent service

Dryer Vent Cleaning in Dunedin, FL

Dryer vent cleaning for Dunedin homes, from Main Street and Dunedin Isles to Spanish Trails and Fairway Estates. Most of the "broken" dryers we see here are fine. The vent behind them is choked with lint, crushed, or packed solid at a roof cap.

Our Clearwater team is just south of town, so same-day visits are normal, and every job ends with an airflow reading so you know the vent is actually clear, not just brushed.

From our jobs

What a packed roof cap looks like

These photos are from one of our own jobs on a single-story home with a roof vent, a setup we see all over Dunedin. When a cap gets this bad, the usual sign indoors is a load that needs two cycles.

On the roof, the metal cap was packed so solid that the brush couldn't push through. We opened an access hole in the cap and pulled the lint out by hand: a dense gray mat full of fibers and hair that filled the whole cap. From there the job is the same every time: clean the line down to the dryer, replace the damaged cap, and check that the flap opens freely and the airflow is strong.

Warning signs

Five signs a Dunedin dryer vent is clogged

1

One load, two cycles. The duct is narrowing and wet air can't leave the drum.

2

The garage or laundry room gets hot, or the dryer stops mid-load when its safety switch trips.

3

A scorched smell. Stop using the dryer and call (727) 454-0061.

4

The flap outside barely opens while the dryer runs.

5

No one has cleaned it in a year or more. The U.S. Fire Administration names failure to clean as the leading cause of home dryer fires, roughly 2,900 a year nationwide.

Quick test: dryer on high, hand in front of the outside vent. Strong, warm air means the line is open. A weak puff means it isn't.
What we do

Dryer vent services for Dunedin homes

Full-line dryer vent cleaning

Lint-trap housing, transition hose, every foot of duct through the attic or wall, and the outside cap, brushed and vacuumed together so the lint leaves with us.

Dryer duct cleaning for long attic runs

In many Dunedin homes the dryer sits in the garage and the duct crosses the attic to reach a roof cap or far wall. We clean the full length and check each joint for gaps that leak lint into the attic.

Roof dryer vent cleaning

Single-story homes here often vent straight up through the roof. We clean from the cap down and from the dryer up, free stuck flaps, and replace screened or corroded caps (screens aren't allowed on dryer exhausts). Why it matters: dryer vent safety.

Dryer vent repair and replacement

Decades-old ducts are often patched, kinked or disconnected in the attic. We replace damaged sections with rigid metal duct, taped rather than screwed so nothing snags lint. See dryer vent repair.

Dryer vent installation

New laundry room, new dryer spot, or a remodel? We install a new vent line to code, from the wall box to the exterior cap.

Dryer vent rerouting

A garage dryer's vent that wanders across the attic can exceed the code limit: 35 feet for a standard 4-inch duct, minus 5 feet per 90° bend and 2.5 feet per 45° bend, unless the dryer maker allows more. We measure it and reroute it shorter and straighter.

Transition hose replacement

White vinyl and thin foil hoses get swapped for semi-rigid metal: listed, 8 feet or less, and out in the open where it can't be crushed or hidden in a wall.

Booster fans

When a run can't be shortened, we install, clean and test listed booster fans and their safety switch.

Bird nests and vent caps

Warm vents attract birds. We remove nests, clean the line and seal the opening with a proper cap.

Dryer vent inspections

For buyers, sellers and landlords: a full inspection with airflow numbers and photos. See dryer vent inspection.

Condos, rentals and businesses

Scheduled cleanings for condo associations, landlords and Dunedin businesses. See commercial dryer vent cleaning.

Local know-how

Why Dunedin dryer vents clog the way they do

A lot of Dunedin was built from the 1950s through the '70s: single-story block homes where the dryer sits in a garage or an inside laundry room, and the duct runs through the attic to a roof cap or a far wall. Over the decades, many of those ducts were patched, kinked or swapped for foil hose that crushes easily. Along Edgewater Drive and in Dunedin Isles, homes and condos near the water also deal with salt air, which corrodes caps and jams their flaps.

Gulf humidity makes it worse: damp lint clings to the duct walls instead of blowing out. That's why we inspect the whole run before we clean, and why we recommend a yearly cleaning for most Dunedin homes and twice a year for busy households and rentals.

Our process

What happens on a Dunedin service call

  1. A text before we arrive with your technician's name. Our customers often mention David and Daniel by name.
  2. An airflow reading first, plus a look at the hose, the route and the cap.
  3. Floors covered, dryer moved carefully.
  4. Repairs first if needed, only with your OK and a fixed price.
  5. Full-line cleaning, from both ends on long or roof runs.
  6. Cap cleared and checked.
  7. A second airflow reading, with before-and-after photos.
