Dryer Vent Cleaning in Clearwater Beach, FL
Dryer vent cleaning for Clearwater Beach homes, condos and vacation rentals, plus Island Estates and Sand Key. Vents on the beach take a beating that inland vents never see: salt air eats metal caps, flaps rust half-shut, and rental dryers run every day between guests.
We clean and repair the whole system, from the dryer to the cap, and test the airflow before we leave.

What salt air and lint do to a vent
These photos come from our own jobs, and they show exactly what happens to dryer vents near the water. In the first, damp lint has built up inside a wall cap until it formed a hard gray crust across the whole opening, with almost no gap left for air. In the second, the inside of the vent is coated in lint, and the metal at the joint has started to rust.
On a job like that we break up and vacuum the crust, clean the line back to the dryer, and replace the cap if corrosion has set in, because a rusted flap will just jam again. On the beach, where rental dryers run daily, we'd book the next cleaning in six months rather than a year.
Signs a beach dryer vent needs attention
Towels and sheets still damp after a full cycle.
Guests or tenants say the dryer "isn't working" or keeps shutting off.
A hot or burning smell near the laundry closet.
A rusted, stuck or missing flap on the outside vent.
Lint collecting around the outside vent or on a balcony.
Failure to clean is the leading cause of home dryer fires, according to the U.S. Fire Administration. In a condo building, one unit's dryer fire is everyone's problem.
Dryer vent services for Clearwater Beach properties
Dryer vent cleaning and lint removal
The full line from the lint-trap housing to the outside cap, brushed and vacuumed, with an airflow reading before and after.
Dryer duct cleaning in condos
Many units on the beach and on Sand Key vent through long runs inside the building. We clean the full length and check for loose joints that let lint collect where no one can see it.
Coastal vent cap replacement
Corroded, stuck or screened caps get replaced with caps suited to salt air. Screens aren't allowed on dryer exhausts because they trap lint. More in our dryer vent safety guide.
Roof dryer vent cleaning
Beach homes and low-rise buildings that vent through the roof get cleaned from the cap down and from the dryer up.
Dryer vent repair and replacement
Crushed, disconnected or corroded duct is replaced with rigid metal, sealed with foil tape. See dryer vent repair.
Dryer vent installation and rerouting
Remodeling a unit or moving the laundry? We install new vent lines to code. Runs longer than the limit (35 feet for a 4-inch duct, minus 5 feet per 90° bend and 2.5 feet per 45° bend, unless the dryer maker allows more) get rerouted shorter.
Transition hose replacement
Foil and vinyl hoses replaced with listed semi-rigid metal, 8 feet or less, never hidden in a wall.
Booster fans
For long runs in larger buildings, we install, clean and test listed booster fans.
Vacation rental maintenance
Cleanings timed between guests, so the dryer keeps up on turnover days, plus a reminder when the next one is due.
Condo and building programs
Unit-by-unit or whole-building cleanings with your association or manager, with a short report per unit. See commercial dryer vent cleaning.
Inspections
For buyers, sellers and insurers: a full inspection with airflow numbers and photos. See dryer vent inspection.
Bird and pest removal
Nests removed, the line cleaned, and a sealed cap fitted.
Why beach dryer vents need more care
Salt air. Metal caps and flaps corrode fast this close to the Gulf. A flap rusted half-closed blocks airflow; one rusted open lets birds and pests in.
Building vents. On Sand Key and along the beach, many units vent through long runs inside the building. You can't see them clogging, and the cap may be floors away from the dryer.
Rentals and turnover. Short-term rentals wash towels and sheets after every stay. That's more lint in a month than many homes make in a year, so rental vents need cleaning at least twice a year.
Humidity. Damp lint sticks to the duct walls instead of blowing out.
How a beach visit works
- We coordinate access with you, the front desk or your manager, and text before we arrive.
- We measure airflow first and inspect the hose, the route and the cap.
- We protect the unit: drop cloths down, dryer moved carefully.
- We clean the full line and clear or replace the cap.
- We test again and send before-and-after numbers and photos, handy for owners who aren't on site.
Can owners handle it themselves?
| Job | Do it yourself | Call a pro |

| Lint-trap housing | Vacuum every few months | Lint packed deep inside |
| Hose behind the dryer | Check it isn't crushed | Replace foil or vinyl hose |
| Building or roof vent | Not accessible | Always |
| Rusted or stuck cap | Not recommended | Always |
